This native New Orleaninan grew up in the heart of The Big Easy and gained serious musical momentum while living in Denver, CO. He is currently a resident of Big Island Hawaii and living in Aloha on a daily basis. With a base in Jazz and Blues, this veteran dj has taken to his music how he likes his food: Flavorful and Exotic. Melding Reggae & Latin beats with Hip-Hop and Breaks while blending Rock & Roll in between EDM laden tracks to create wondrous mixes to satisfy your dancing appetite.

DJ Uplifter is a product of his upbringing spent in the south; deeply influenced by the sights, sounds and tastes of New Orleans. The unique blend of people, food and culture created an eclectic foundation for his DJ career. His earliest memories are of the musical musings that would float out of the bars, clubs and festivals- jazz, blues, funk, hip hop, Latin.
Years later, as a teen, he had his first exposure to djing while on the radio in Taos, NM where he had the opportunity to join Sister Jennifer during her Reggae radio show, Roots & Branches, on KTAO. It was during this time his deep love of roots Reggae was cultivated.
In 1995 Uplifter moved to Denver where he began working at a local record store Twist & Shout. From 1995 until 2001 Uplifter built an impressive music collection, while honing his dj skills in friends’ basements and house parties. He was given the name “DJ Uplitfter” in 1999 by his mentor, DJ Bloodpresha, for his ability to uplift and inspire via his music. He developed a large following and was one of the most prominent Reggae and Dancehall DJs in Denver, until his move to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2015. Since his move, DJ Uplifter has become an integral part of the large dance community on the island, both as a DJ and with his production company Plenty Production.
Fueled by the power and energy of the Big Island, DJ Uplifter has the unique ability to tune-in to his audience and take listeners and dancers on a booty-shaking, soul sweating, ear-gasm, bass drenched dancefloor journey.
